Bcas Collective Agreement

Published on September 12, 2021

The new three-year collective agreement is the first stand-alone and conventional contract for BC paramedics and distributors since 2004. It includes general wage increases of 2.0 per cent per year, hundreds of new regular medical jobs across the province, and a series of new health and safety initiatives. It also ensures compliance with the new requirements of the Employment Act by the end of March 2022. The new agreement will be applied retroactively to April 1, 2019, and many changes will be implemented immediately or in the coming months. Note: While individual overtime is voluntary (subject to agreement), a common refusal by a number of workers to work normal overtime is likely to constitute a strike or trade union action. B.C paramedics. in a new three-year contract with the province have secured hundreds of new jobs and additional stability for work in rural areas, their union says. The BCEA allows a certain flexibility in the organisation of working time, through an agreement between the employer and the employee (collective agreement) or an employee (individual agreement): paramedics and distributors completed the ratification of the treaty this week, after lengthy negotiations that resulted in a provisional agreement in July. It applies retroactively to April 1, the date on which the previous contract expired, and includes the PND government`s general standard wage count of 2% wage increases per year.
